Since the beginning of the enrollment of students in 2007, the German Department has formed a unique competitive edge. The Department has developed a “platform plus modules” training program with the characteristics of Ningbo University, in order to cultivate the students to become complex foreign language talents. There are a total of 9 full-time teachers, 1 foreign teacher, 1 professor and 2 associate professors in the teaching team of the Department. Every year, we send more than ten top fourth-year undergraduates to Germany for six-month exchange and study at our German sister universities. The Faculty of Foreign Languages of Ningbo University has provided financial support for the construction and development of the German Department. After seven years of construction and development, the German Department was authorized to award master's degree in 2014 and started recruiting students in 2016. The teachers strive to establish the Department as an important base for training German language talents in Ningbo and Zhejiang Province.
